Our Commitment
Second Street Music is committed to ensuring that our Platform and physical facilities are accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We strive to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Website & Platform Accessibility
Standards
We design and develop the SSOS Platform to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, including:
- Perceivable: Text alternatives for non-text content, captions for audio/video, sufficient color contrast, resizable text
- Operable: Keyboard navigation, no time-limited interactions (or ability to extend), no flashing content, clear navigation
- Understandable: Readable text, predictable behavior, input assistance and error prevention
- Robust: Compatible with assistive technologies (screen readers, voice navigation, switch devices)
Assistive Technology
The Platform is designed to work with:
- Screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Voice recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- High contrast and dark mode display settings
Ongoing Efforts
- Regular automated accessibility scanning
- Manual testing with assistive technologies
- Accessibility review for all new features before release
- Staff training on accessibility best practices
Physical Facility Accessibility
1954 N 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19122
- Studio is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors with stair-only access — no elevator available
- Wheelchair accessible entrance: No (stairs required)
- Accessible parking: Street parking available on N 2nd St
- Accessible restrooms: Not yet available
- Hearing loop or assistive listening devices: Available upon request
- Service animals welcome
Construction Notice: This facility is currently under active construction. Conditions may change as renovations progress. All guests are required to sign a facility liability waiver before entering.
We are actively working on improving physical accessibility, including as part of the current renovation. If you have mobility limitations, please contact us in advance so we can discuss how to accommodate your needs.
Course & Event Accessibility
- AI-generated transcriptions available for recorded sessions (see Terms of Service, Section 1.13)
- Closed captions for pre-recorded video content
- Human-reviewed transcriptions available upon request for accessibility needs
- Event organizers encouraged to include accessibility information in event listings

Some Platform content is provided by third-party users (listings, event descriptions, course content). While we encourage accessible content practices, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of all user-generated content. We provide guidelines and tools to help users create accessible content.
